Hello and welcome to our class blog! Here you will be able to find out what we will be doing each class, respond to questions, and more. Before we can begin course material, we need to set up ours blogs first!
Steps for setting up your blog
1. Sign into your Rockway Google Apps Account
2. Click on Blogger (it will be in a drop down menu at the top of your screen).
3. Choose a Blogger Profile (not a Google + profile).
4. Your display name should be your first name and last initial, i.e. TraceyM (you should unclick receive announcements to avoid annoying spam).
5. You have now created a Blogger Dashboard, this is where you can add other blogs to your reading list. Click Create new blog.
6. The title of your blog should be first name and last intial, commtech12, i.e. Traceymcommtech12
7. The address should be the same as your title.
8. Choose your layout.
Congratulations! You have set up your blog. Now take the time to do the following:
1.Cuztomize your blog by choosing a layout of your preference. Change the colours and make it your own. Fill out your blogger profile ( don't give away any personal information including your full name).
2. Take a photo using photobooth and upload as your display picture. Play with the different settings! You could also use your avatar that you created in bitstrips.com.
Answer the following questions as your first blog post:
Why did you take this course?
What are your goals for the year?
What experiences do you have with computers? What do you use your home computer for the most?
What are you looking forward to the most this year in Comm Tech?

3. Click on the link to our Google Docs Folder. This will be a shared folder.
4. Now create a new folder that you will only share with me. This is how you will submit assignments. Make sure that you send me an email notification so I know you have done this.
5. After you have created a folder for us, I will send you a questionnaire. Please fill out the questionnaire and save it in our folder.
6. Create a new google doc that has a link to your blog. Share this document with me so that I can access your blog.
7. Share your bitstrips comic in our folder. (Create a doc with a link to your published comic).

8. After you have finished, go back to google and discover how to do a Google Blog Search. Find 3 blogs that interest you and post the links to your blog!
