September 28th, 2012

For the first few minutes, please submit your assignments to me if you DO NOT have to use iphoto. DO NOT OPEN IPHOTO!!!!!! If you must open iphoto, ask if you can go to the loop in the library to use the OLD OPERATING SYSTEM.

AFTER THE LESSON
1. Find an example of a photo with multiple exposures and post it onto your blog.

2. Use google to discover how to use the manual option for our cameras in class, the Canon sx150. Once you have figured this out, demonstrate it with the camera and show me.

3. Please respond to the following questions:
What is the role of aperture in creating the depth of field?

What do you think the purpose would be in manipulating the depth of field?

Do you prefer a shallow or a deep depth of field? Why?

4. Find an example of a photo that uses a shallow depth of field that you think established a certain "mood". What is the mood in the photo, i.e. dramatic, etc.

5. Go out and play with the manual settings for this camera and take a minimum of 6 photos with a range of Depth of Field. If possible, shoot your photos outdoors to avoid "camera shakes". We'll talk about this concept next class!
