Welcome back!
Before we move further into our course, I would like you to do the following:
1. Respond on your blog, the questions I posted in the class blog on Monday.
2. Log into Google Drive. Find our shared folder (between yourself and I)....some of your finished this on Monday, for those that did not I created it for us. The folder should be named Lastname first inital commtech, i.e. MatthewsTcommtech.
3. Within our shared folder, create a new google doc. In the document insert the url to your blog.
4. Complete the equipment survey that you will find in our shared folder.
5. Go to our class folder, "Communications Technology 2012" and sign our testing document. Also go to the Bitstrips document and follow the instructions that are provided.
6. AFTER you have finished the above, go back to Google and find out how to do a Google Blog Search. Find 3 blogs that interest you and post the links onto your blog.
While you're waiting for our lesson to begin, use the web to research the "Rule of Thirds". What is this concept and how does it apply to photography?
Post your answer on your blog (at least a paragraph). DO NOT just cut and paste, and provide a reference for your source of information.
AFTER THE LESSON
Part One:
You are going to practise using the rule of thirds by CROPPING photos and improving their composition.
1. Click on each thumbnail to download the full size version of each photo.
2. Use iPhoto to crop each photo in TWO DIFFERENT WAYS using the rule of thirds.
3. Upload your finished photos to your blog with the title "Rule of Thirds".
Part Two:
1. Find two great examples of the Rule of Thirds in photos on the web. Post them on your blog (with references) and explain why they follow this rule.
2. If you are finished, find someone in the class who you can HELP.
BONUS: Research how the Rule of Thirds is connected to the Fibonacci series in mathematics. Explain (with references and images) on your blog.
