September 17th

Hello and welcome back!

Today we will begin our first theory day. There is a lot of theory behind photography so it will be important for you to stay on top of your work. The first thing I would like you to do today is:

1. Check our shared google docs folder for a message from me. It will be sent as a google docs file. The e-mail was down this weekend so this is how I sent you a message. The majority of you have still not sent me a link to your blog. You have had plenty of time to do this, please catch up a.s.a.p.

2. Catch up on all of the work from Friday including finding a camera tutorial for the cameras we use in this class.

3. Upload your photos to iphoto. Feel free to explore with iphoto and choose 3 photos that you would like to submit to me for marking. It is important that all 3 of these photos show the rule of thirds. If you worked with a partner, please send me all 6 photos each.

4. Set up a Flickr account. Use your school gmail address to create your account. Flickr is a great tool for sharing photos. Explore Flickr and discover its possibilities. Please list on your blog 5 new things that you learned about Flickr. You can choose to share privately with only those who you give permission to (our class) or publicly.

                                                                 LESSON

5. AFTER the lesson, please continue with the creation of your Flickr account.

6. Find an example of an aperture/ shutter speed exposure chart and post it on your blog with a reference.

7.  Find out what the B and T settings are in relation to a shutter speed on your camera. Post your findings on the blog.

8. Research what a light metre is and what a gray card is. What are these used for? Post your findings on the blog.
